James Island Renovation: A Turn-Key Whole-Home Transformation
O'Connor Homes completed this turn-key whole-home renovation on James Island under a contract signed in December 2021, with a scheduled construction period of twenty weeks and a total contract price of $362,015. The homeowner provided the cabinets, appliances, fixtures, tile, vanities, and hardware, while O'Connor Homes' contract covered the labor, structural work, and trade coordination.
Opening Up the Home
The renovation began by opening the wall between the kitchen and living room, creating a single connected living space, and continued with new and enlarged window and door openings throughout — including a twelve-foot impact-rated quad slider and a nine-foot slider, both supported by new LVL headers.
Upstairs, a new playroom was built out with fresh subflooring, red oak flooring, pocket doors, and raised windows, along with a new doorway into an adjoining flex room.
